Etsy Google Merchant Center Feed/Syndication Update

Sean11 just posted an update (02/25/10) on the syndication roll out–here’s the main gist:

  • Most active sellers now have it.
  • The reason not everyone is syndicated yet is because of Google limitations and they are working on expanding it, as they do Etsy is adding more shops.
  • Etsy is the largest site adding items through the new special Google Product Search Marketplace Partner.
  • 10,000 shops were syndication yesterday, they expect everyone will be syndicated soon.

    I think they mean folks with items in their shops, as opposed to shops that don’t have anything for sale in them.

    Do you why my default language (english) has changed in Google Analytics? Yesterday I clicked on Goggle Analytics from the etsy page and GA home page appears in Chinese. Any suggestions as to how I can get it back to English. Thank you.
    I have picked English in the drop down menu on the GA home page and it does change, but the next time I click on analytics from the etsy page its in Chinese again.

    It seems to have happened to a few folks–must be a glitch. I see flandersfield was discussing it with others here who had the same problem: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6473297

    My shop does not show as syndicated yet. But I do have stats and such in Google Analytics. Any idea why?

    Google Analytics is statistics for your shop & your shop may be in regular Google searches (and other search engines) already, plus it tracks hits from within Etsy as well.

    Syndication is only for Etsy uploading our items to Google Merchant Center to get into Google’s special shopping/product search–see here for more on what it is: What is Google Base/Merchant?
